Therapeutic itineraries in post Covid19 syndrome: activities of daily living and experience of illness
Keywords:
Pandemic, Activities of daily living, RehabilitationAbstract
Once the critical stage of the Covid-19 pandemic is over, the need to shift the focus from critical care to investigating the needs of patients who suffered the disease acutely and continue with sequelae arises. The research proposes to analyze the therapeutic itineraries of people with post Covid-19 syndrome with a qualitative methodological strategy. For this article is pretended to describe the impact of post Covid-19 syndrome on people's activities of daily living and how they go through the experience of illness. It is concluded that all the interviewees had seen their daily life activities affected at the time of discharge, while most of them still had some difficulty at the time of the interview (between 5 and 8 months later). The perception of their health condition was affected by physical sequelae, pain and mental health conditions, generating a biographical disruption that was manifested in the work, economic, housing, bonding and emotional matters. The development of public policies to address this issue from a integral health perspective is essential.
